FROM TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, PROGRAMS & FUNDING
The Patrick Soil and Water Conservation District receives assistance from many partners by way of financial, technical and administrative which, in turn, allows the District to better serve Patrick County.
In the last year:
The District disseminated $64,373 through the Commonwealth of Virginia’s BMP State Cost-Share Program to Patrick County agricultural producers.
The District in cooperation with the Farm Service Agency, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and VA Dept of Forestry was instrumental in securing funding for $78,538 administered through the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP).
The District dispersed $44,474 to county landowners for the State’s portion for the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP).
Through the Virginia Agricultural BMP Tax Credit Program, the District issued $225 in state tax credits to county landowners or operators for conservation practices completed. (Agricultural producers with an approved conservation plan can take a state tax credit against state income tax of 25 percent of eligible BMP expenses.)
