Service was provided to municipalities, developers, consultants, and citizens requesting soils information, and conservation planning through the District
The District assisted the VA Dept. of Forestry in the acorn collection for various hardwood planting efforts and programs and other programs offered
The District is a member of the National Association of Conservation Districts and the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts

The District sponsors two PCHS students to attend annual VASWCD Youth Conservation Camp
The Dominion Energy Envirothon is a team based natural resources competition for high school students (grades 9-12). Students learn stewardship and management concepts and work to solve real world environmental problems. The program is field-oriented, community based and gives students an opportunity to work with natural resource professionals. The competition begins at the local level and advances all the way through the national level.

The District assisted VDACS with the Virginia Century Farm Program
The District works with the county, Town of Stuart and the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce in the county litter pick up campaign and secured certificates to citizens and businesses that participated and recycling awareness
The District works with the county in promoting the oil recycling program at the Patrick County Transfer Station
Provide the public with contacts for technical and non-technical information relating to other county, state and federal agencies. (Examples Army Corps of Engineers, County E & S Inspector, county businesses and contractors)
